Originally from Southern California, Evan is a curator, arts writer, and instructor currently living and working in North Carolina. Specializing in modern and contemporary art, she is a freelance writer and lecturer, previously working as an Adjunct Instructor at Laguna College of Art & Design and California State University, Fullerton, teaching gender studies and art history, and as Director/Curator for Golden West College Art Gallery in Huntington Beach.

 

Evan served as a juror for the Festival of Arts (2019) and as the guest juror for the 2020 Made in California exhibition at Brea Art Gallery as well as the guest juror for the LMU 2020 annual student art show at the Laband Gallery.

 

She is former Editor-In-Chief of Inland Empire Weekly and Culture Magazine, a former Assistant Editor for YAY! LA Magazine, and is founder of the once independent art journal, Rogue Arts. She has contributed as an arts writer for Art and Cake, KCET Artbound, Orange County Register, Artillery, Artvoices, Beautiful Bizarre Magazine, Art Ltd. Magazine, E-VOLVED, Local Arts, Juxtapoz, Laika, Beauty & Wellness CA, ArtScene and the OC Art Blog, and has a Masters Degree in Art History from California State University, Fullerton.
